Are you comfortable?
Being comfortable is probably the most dangerous position to be in.
When we are comfortable then we typically are not moving forward in any area of our life.
It has been my experience that my greatest gains have come when I am uncomfortable.
When we are uncomfortable is when are greatest breakthroughs come.
But naturally as soon as we get uncomfortable, often times we retreat back into our normal ways.
The safe place where we are comfortable…
Where we can’t get knocked down…
The Navy Seals have a saying ” Get comfortable being uncomfortable. ”
If you are comfortable being uncomfortable then you will be prepared for any situation in your life.
When it comes to business, I see people all the time stay where they are and not take action because they are not comfortable with growth.
Self doubt often creeps in…
Am I good enough?
I don’t deserve that much money…
I am not an expert….
And so on.
So if you really want your business to go the next level, start getting comfortable getting uncomfortable.
Here are three tips to starting getting uncomfortable:
1.) START
The first step of getting uncomfortable is to start taking action.
Start taking action and you have completed half the battle.
The best way to start is on your own terms without someone forcing or pushing you to do something.
Make a decision and stay committed to that decision.
It is really important to think progress not perfection because often times we don’t start because we are waiting for that “perfect time”.
There is no perfect time.
So start now.
2.) PUSH THROUGH
You have decided to start and guess what?
You aren’t seeing the results you want right away, so naturally you want to quit.
Don’t worry, this feeling is natural and part of the process of being uncomfortable.
If you are saying to yourself “I don’t know that I can do this” OR “This type of thing doesn’t work for me”
Then you are right where you are supposed to be, so good job.
The key here is pushing through and not quitting.
On the other side of this discomfort is your new found success.
NO EXCUSES! KEEP PUSHING!
3.) EMBRACE
So you have started and you pushed through your discomfort.
Now it is time to embrace your new life being comfortable being uncomfortable.
Embrace these uncomfortable feelings with open arms.
Take it head on.
This is where you will become tougher and reach a massive breakthrough.
As you get comfortable being uncomfortable, you change as a person.
Recognize your growth and use that to build your confidence.
When you see results from real hard work and reach the breakthrough, naturally you are going to want to test the boundaries and see how uncomfortable you can be.
Congrats!
You have made it!
Now rinse and repeat.
