Happy Super Bowl Sunday!
Let’s make one thing clear….
BEAT LA!
As a 49er fan, I was raised to hate two teams, the Cowboys and the Rams.
I have grown to hate another…
The Seahawks!
With that being said, I am pulling for the Patriots today.
Not that I am going to lose sleep either way.
But I will never pull for the Rams.
Today, I think we need to embrace the greatness of the Patriots and Tom Brady (of course you can pull for the Rams).
What they have done over the last two decades is absolutely remarkable.
I know the Patriots are an easy team to hate….
9 Super Bowl appearances… 5 wins
8 Straight AFC championship games…
The list goes on.
But what they have accomplished is truly second to none.
One thing I find strange about sports is that fans truly despise a team because they are consistently successful (I despise my teams based on rivalry).
Patriots….
Alabama Football…
Golden State Warriors….
To name a recent few.
As a spectator, I am mostly like you and would love to see some new teams have some success but because this is the team we are forced to watch, I embrace that we will likely never see a run like this in sports.
To be GREAT is tremendously difficult.
The amount of preparation, hard work behind the scenes and sacrifice can never be quantified.
And I appreciate those things.
The Patriots and Tom Brady are a true blue collar team where everyone puts team before self and the results are consistent championships.
It’s not about flashy play or individual accolades, it is about winning…. PERIOD.
Is that how you are running your life and your business?
Are you pursing greatness?
Are preparing everyday to be better at your craft?
Are you working hard? … I am mean truly working hard?
Are you making sacrifices in your life to achieve your goals?
In life you are either getting better or getting worse….
Nothing stays the same.
The key foundation for success is discipline because the journey for greatness is not an easy one.
It will be filled with obstacles, challenges, setbacks, highs and lows.
So you will need great discipline to stay the course when it will truly be easier to just be average.
Be prepared to make sacrifices to achieve your greatest dreams.
So today, appreciate the fact that the Patriots have given you a team to hate because they are great and tomorrow….
Make a commitment to your greatness and start your streak of consecutive championships.
Embrace greatness today and enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday!
